Shleprock

My friend Brian recently named my car Shleprock after the character on "Pebbles and Bam Bam" who always has bad things happen to him. Poor Shleprock. I have only owned a car for six months and it hasn't gone well. To be honest, the crack in the windshield was the least of my problems. I went to Pete's Auto Glass Shop in San Bernadino and got a whole new windshield put in for $125. AND I got laid. Not really but while I was there I did think, "This story would be so much more interesting if I ended up having sex with Pete after he put in my new windshield." A girl can dream.

One thing I have learned about owning a car is that when things go wrong it's probably best not to ask my friends to give me an estimate on how much it's going to cost to get it fixed. Their estimates usually range anywhere from "$1000" to "You're basically fucked." As it turns out, neither estimate is correct. (I did a play on words!)

If I could ask one thing of other drivers in LA it would be that they stop honking until they get my attention only to give me the finger. I get it. You don't like my driving. I'm not doing it right. Honestly, I am doing the best I can and I am not going out of my way to ruin your day so you shouldn't go out of your way to give me the finger. All that's going to do is make me have to flip you off back, which means I can't concentrate on the road, which is just going to make everything way more complicated than it needs to be.

LA driving is crazy. Also, what's the deal with airplane food.
